Ukraine intends to turn to international standards in RF BSF question

Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleh Rybachuk confirms that Ukraine intends to turn to international standards in the question of rental for Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in Crimea.

“I confirm that Ukraine declares about the next step in relations with Russia according to international standards,” said Rybachuk, having added that the Ukrainian party heard for many times about such argument as market economy status, when the question touched upon gas prices.

In this context Rybachuk noted that Ukraine has real chances to become a member of the World Trade Organization; the EU has already recognized Ukraine as a country with market economy status, and our state will get similar status from the USA in the near future. According to Rybachuk, “that’s why this is a logical step (turn to international standards in RF BSF issue – ed.). “There can not another criterion, except for international standards, and President of Ukraine adheres to this logic also,” stated he, UNIAN reported.
