Ukraine-NATO relations depend on the March elections

The result of Ukraine-NATO negotiations will depend on honesty and transparency of the parliamentary election in March, Michael Dure the Director of NATO Information Centre in Ukraine told.

“Last year we emphasized five priorities of Ukraine-NATO relations, five key priorities for the reforms and one of them is the consolidation of the democratic establishes,” said Mr. Dure.

“It is not a secret that the process of the election will be of great importance for further development of cooperation with NATO countries and NATO itself. I mean the process not the result,” stressed the Director of Information Centre.

The Head of Ukrainian Mission Volodymyr Khandogiy predicts Ukraine to become NATO member in 2008.
