ALchevsk dwellers soon to be supplied with hot water

Architecture Minister Pavlo Kachur and Emergency Minister Victor Baloha told the President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko which measures they had assumed to cope with a recent accident in Alchevsk’s hot-water system, the President's press office informed.

Baloha and Kachur informed the Head of State of yesterday’s meeting of a government group which had formulated a plan to deal with the devastating aftermath of the accident and restore heating supplies to homes.

The President ordered the cabinet to send additional funds to Alchevsk. He also asked all governors to send qualified professionals to Alchevsk and delegated Kachur to meet social needs of the local residents.

Yushchenko said some regions of Ukraine were insufficiently prepared for the heating season, which shows that the local authorities irresponsibly perform their duties.
