NFP workers against re-privatization


About 400 workers of Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant picket the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in Kyiv. They stand for agreement of lawsuit between the government and the owner of Pridnestrovye Consortium.

The protesters carrying slogans “We demand the fair judgment,” “Let’s peace start with NFP,” “We want peace” and others.

As a reminder, the Supreme Court of Ukraine considers the legality of NFP privatization today. The picketers stand for the current owners and protest against re-privatization.

The police seal off the protest activists.

It should be mentioned that the Cabinet of Ukraine is critically against the agreement of lawsuit with NFP. The Cabinet spokesman, Stepan Melnyk, made the corresponding announcement before the hearing of the Supreme Court of Ukraine have been started. According to Business newspaper, the hearing is dedicated to 50%+1 privatization of NFP stock by the consortium Prydnistrovye.
