Luhansk residents used to live without water and heating

5 Channel visited the resident of the city of Zorynsk, Luhansk regiont, where people have lived without heat for last ten years. The problems started when Luhansk local authorities cut off drinking water supply. People found way out taking water from the centralized heating system for their needs - washing and cooking. They had used natural gas for heating their residences until those supplies ran out. Some people use electrical heaters, while others use wood burning stoves called "burzhuyky".

Another way people deal with the cold is simply leaving for South for all winter months. They typically move out brining along their families elsewhere in the country where the winter season is milder. Residents told 5 Channel that they have heard promises from the premiers and the governors, but just do not believe them anymore.
