The Justice Minister of Ukraine commented on the Cabinet's dismissal

As Justice Minister Serhiy Holovaty said to mediapeople today in Kyiv, in accordance with the latest amendments to the basic law, neither the President nor the Parliament have the juridical right to dismiss the Cabinet.

According to the Justice Minister, the Parliament's Tuesday resolution contradicts several articles of the Constitution and so may not be viewed as a legitimate document. As Mr Holovatyi explained, the organic law specifies the exhaustive list of conditions, under which the government may be sacked. These include the Government's resignation after the new Parliament is elected. According to Serhiy Holovatyi, the Justice Ministry means to petition the President for demanding that the Verkhovna Rada nullify its resolution, Ukainian Radio reports.
