Khristenko: “Gas problem” may be settled before January 1, 2006


Russia and Ukraine may sign necessary documents regulating the gas relations till January 1, 2006. Such agreement was reached by Energy Ministers of Russia and Ukraine during Monday negotiations in Moscow, Russian Energy Ministry press office told.

Victor Khristenko and Ivan Plachkov discussed bilateral ties in the gas sphere. As it was assessed by the experts, that time the participants advanced in “gas cooperation.”

“If we do not reduce speed the documents on Russian gas supply to Ukraine will be signed before January 1, 2006,” said Khristenko.

The participants stressed the necessity to continue the constructive dialogue in this sphere.
