Spain may adopt little Ukrainians

Ukrainian government recommences adoption of Ukrainian children by citizens of Spain.

As a reminder, Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science and the Center of Adoption terminated accepting of applications form Italy, Spain, the USA, Germany, France and Canada. Such measure was done because over six years these countries had not informed Ukraine about destiny of 1,300 adopted children.

The termination has yielded a fruit. Ukraine was handed information about 500 little Ukrainians adopted during 1996-2003 and about 881 reports out of 2058 adopted in 2004.

Spain provided Ukraine with reports concerning all adopted Ukrainian children. That is why Ukrainian government has lifted a ban from Spain since November 3. The citizens of Spain may hand their applications to corresponding Ukrainian establishments.

Moreover, in accordance with child rights and interests Ukrainian government permits adoption of children being in relationship with each other and children of 10 years and upward.
