President of Ukraine and President of Hungary discussed issues of cooperation between their states


During the meeting Viktor Yushchenko and Laszlo Solyom discussed the questions of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Republic of Hungary.

Yushchenko pointed out the friendly terms of the relations between two countries and “big potential” of their further development, in particular in economic and humanitarian spheres.

The leaders of the states devoted much attention to the development of the transport means of communication. Besides, Yushchenko stated that he expected Hungary to help Ukraine to settle a problem of visa liberalization with the EU for some categories of Ukrainian citizens: students, journalists, art professionals and businessmen. Ukrainian President informed Hungarian counterpart about actions of the government directed on protection of national minorities, Hungarians, in particular, living in Ukraine.

Presidents agreed on necessity of signing of Ukrainian-Hungarian “road map” of action for 2005-2006. The aim of it is to activate of cooperation between two countries in different fields of live.

Solyom confirmed his support of Ukraine’s integration into European structures. In 2008 Yushchenko plans to see Ukraine in the EU.
