Yushchenko: Two witnesses re "Gongadze's case" are killed

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko declared today in Strasbourg that two witnesses re George Gongadze’s case were killed.

Answering the question about prospects of investigation of Gongadze’s murder he said: "I have information which makes me an optimist, and we can finally close this case... Much water has flowed under the bridge since then, two of four main witnesses are killed".

According to president, problem number one in this case is to save materials which can specify blood-guilty. After Yushchenko’s meeting with Olesya Gongadze, journalist’s mother, "special forces of subdivisions of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security Service of Ukraine were formed for effective investigation".

"General Office of Public Prosecutor forwarded two cases, which relate to Gongadze’s death by implication to Court", - Yushchenko added.
