"Yushchenko on the square of Independence" is the most top-selling item

In pedestrian subway on the square of Independence, where all events during "orange revolution" took place, souvenir dealers have an unusual article. They sell table and wall portraits with the image of president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.

"These portraits are the most top-selling item now. They are bought by officials of different grades for their cabinets", - said a saleswoman.

According to her, portraits are done in Western Ukraine on demand of one of parties supporting Victor Yushchenko on elections. But his electoral staff denies this fact.

"The official portrait of Victor Yushchenko has been just prepared. And within the next few days it will be published. What is being sold on trays is ugliness and violation of every moral and ethics norms against Victor Yushchenko, an ordinary citizen and  president", - said Oksana Griaznova, responsible for portrait publishing in the electoral staff of Victor Yushchenko .

She did not specify how president would look on a new official portrait which would be also offered for retail.

According to her, «in any case, there will be no prohibitions for the sale of unofficial portraits of president among the souvenir dealers».
