Lucenko will organize two-month purge in Ministry of Internal Affairs

New minister of internal affairs Yurii Lucenko intends to comb out dishonest officials from police. He declared it on the ceremony of presentation of a new chief of Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, who was introducing the new chief of Ministry, assured that Ukrainian police will get people’s confidence under the direction of the new minister. “I am sure that in a year Ukrainian police will be trustworthy, will not accept bribes and cooperate with criminal groups”-said Yushchenko, “Interfax” informs.

Besides, he admitted that Lucenko “is known as an honest man”, which has “a lot of ideas, and he will not stay doing nothing”.

Also Yushchenko pointed out that he plans to hold a meeting in MIA in 10 days, during which to discuss the conception of Ministry’s work for 2005 year, and after 2 months to sum up MIA work done.
